BOSS Academy Students Honored at Brave Enough to Fail Gala

Our students participating in the BOSS Academy were recognized at the Brave Enough to Fail’s Person of Courage Award Gala on March 7.

Faculty, students and parents were invited to the ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich in Greenwich, Conn. Principal Dr. Victor Black, Assistant Principal Beth Furnari and the students were honored by Wayne Winsley, the founder and CEO of Brave Enough to Fail, a nonprofit that focuses on student motivation and provides financial support through scholarships.

Seniors Sariah Rogers and Anthony Deacy addressed the audience and spoke about what brought them to the BOSS Academy at P-TECH. 

Brave Enough to Fail teaches students the true meaning of being a BOSS – Big dreams, pushing one’s self Outside the comfort zone, developing a Strategy for success, and learning to Stick to the plan through perseverance.

P-TECH incorporated the BOSS Academy into its curriculum earlier this year. We conduct the program during the advisory period throughout the school year. Students who were handpicked and trained in the BOSS Academy curriculum on how to be facilitators and mentors facilitate the classes.

Toni Boucher, First Selectwoman of Wilton, received the 2024 Courage Award for championing youth and education and her philanthropic work.
