Seniors Jaxon Ermo and Jaiden Singh will continue their baseball careers at the NCAA Division I level next year, becoming the first P-TECH students to earn D1 baseball scholarships.

Ermo will attend Iona University in New Rochelle, New York, while Singh will continue his academic and athletic journey at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts.

“This is a historic moment for P-TECH. For the first time, two of our student-athletes have earned Division I offers in baseball, and we couldn’t be more proud,” said P-TECH Principal Beth Furnari. “Jaxon Ermo and Jaiden Singh are model citizens—kind, scholarly, athletic, and deeply committed to their success. Their achievement reflects not only their talent and hard work, but also the dedication of our coaches, teachers, and the entire school community. We wish Jaxon and Jaiden the very best.”

Playing for the Norwalk High School baseball team, both athletes emphasized the importance of balancing their academics with their athletic pursuits.

“The classwork really comes first,” Ermo said. “I take the classroom very seriously and make sure I balance it out, doing my homework, studying for tests, finishing classwork on time, because without doing all that, you’re not gonna be able to come out here and play on the field.”

Singh echoed that sentiment, crediting his teachers and the P-TECH community for his success.

“P-TECH is what brought me up — classes, the teachers, the people at P-TECH — it’s what helped me become the person I am today,” he said.

Before heading to their respective universities, Ermo and Singh hope to help lead the Norwalk High School baseball team to a state championship. Looking further ahead, both students share an even bigger dream: to one day get drafted and play baseball professionally.
